RIFT v1.3 Hotfix #4

WORLD EVENT
* The ‘Shell’ daily quests will be ending with the start of Waves of Madness – Phase 2 on 6/28/11. Don’t worry, there are more new quests coming up with the new phase!
* Swift Action will remain completable throughout Phase 2 of Waves of Madness.
* Reduced the level of Abyssal Infiltrators in Sanctum and Meridian to 10.
* Abyssal Runeslayers now drop 10 Rune King Seals rather than 1.
* The rare Rift drops for Waves of Madness now correctly drop only from Rift and Invasion content which is at least green difficulty or higher to your character.
* Something Fishy: Abyssal Infiltrators no longer drop loot so their corpses despawn much more quickly.
* Broken Weapon Fragment: You can now accept the quest from this item even if you are above the quest’s level. The various Broken Weapon Fragment items now indicate the quest level in their tooltip.
* The Essences available from the event merchant are now flagged as Unique Equip instead of Unique Equip-Family. You can have more than one of the type equipped as long as they are not identical items.

CHARACTER TRANSFER
* Characters under level 15 may now be transferred off of Trial shards.
* Fixed a rare case where characters could be transferred twice during the 7 day limit when Trial shards were involved.

GENERAL
* The chance for Expert Dungeon bosses to drop Epic quality items has been increased.
* LFG: If a Dungeon instance cannot be properly created for your group, you no longer receive the LFG deserter debuff.
* Iron Pine Peaks: Falling Like Rain: Baris Windblade, Gerlin Windblade, and Archivist Vislin have come out of hiding and will now actually face the Ascended!
* Raid Rifts: Terror of Undeath and Growth of the Aelfwar were not properly awarding Inscribed Sourcestones to Guardian raiders, and have now been fixed. The Inscribed Sourcestones for Raid Rifts are found in the chest that spawns when the Rift is sealed.
* Raid and Expert Rift treasure chests now despawn after 1 hour (up from 20 minutes).

COMBAT
* You can now change targets while stunned or confused – you will still need to wait for the effect to wear off to take new actions.
* PvP: Battlemaster’s Brew, Lesser Recon Serum, and Greater Recon Vial can no longer be purged.
* Fixed a bug with pets being unresponsive when on steep slopes.
* Tab targeting order now resets when the current target dies.
* Tab targeting now also works for ‘yellow’ NPCs that have aggroed you but you have not yet attacked.

JUSTICAR
* Due to the fixes below, characters with soul points spent in Justicar have received a free soul point respec.
* Rebuke: Fixed a bug with how this ability interrupts NPC abilities.
* Commitment: Now requires the proper 25 points spent in Justicar before it can be purchased.
* Righteous Mandate: Will once again correctly trigger when Salvation healing comes from non-Justicar abilities.
* Precept of Refuge: Correctly increases Block chance.
* Doctrine of Authority: Fixed a bug causing this to not trigger melee procs.

RIFTBLADE

* Storm Blade: Fixed a bug causing Storm Blade from multiple Riftblades to overwrite each other.

GILDED PROPHECY [Sliver]
* Uruluuk no longer drops the unused Glyphed Shoulder items.

CRAFTING
* Brew of the Abyssal Apprentice can no longer be Runebroken.
* Heroic Healing Tonic recipe has been fixed so it creates 3 Tonics instead of 1.

UI/SETTINGS
* Bind on Account info now appears properly on item tooltips, and in a different color from the Soulbound text.
* Added more consistent error messages when trying to deposit into a full Guild Bank vault.
* Tightened up the mouseover tooltip area for Target, Target of Target, and Focus Target portraits.

CLIENT/SERVER
* Fixed an issue preventing the game from starting properly when running Wine.

RIFT v1.3 Hotfix #3 Live

GENERAL
* World Event: Bracing the Ward: Quest now gives credit when the Augment or Bless Wardstone ability is used on an Ancient Wardstone within 5 levels of your character.
* Guild Bank tabs will now properly transfer to other shards with your Guild.
* Fixed a rare issue with Guild Bank permissions where no members could deposit or withdraw.
* Crafting is now disabled while an account is Coin Locked.
* Scarwood Reach: Bare Knuckled Fight Club: Opponents should no longer disappear in fear at the sight of you!
* Expert Rift: Redemption of Perdeen: Rift should no longer fail to advance
* With the latest round of hardware upgrades we’ve increased the threshold for determining when a shard is at Low, Medium, or High population.

PVP/WARFRONTS
* Fixed a bug causing Warfront team imbalances with large disparities in team numbers.
* Trophies of Absolution and Trophies of Desecration can no longer be consumed in Warfronts.

RIFT v1.3 Hotfix #2

WORLD EVENT – WAVES OF MADNESS
* Fixed the treasure map quests so their target now appears and they can be completed.
* Adjusted required levels for the quests ‘War is Shell’, ‘Shell Shock’, and ‘Shell Comes to Telara’. Defiant characters in low to mid level ranges should no longer be sent to zones of a higher level than they can normally access for these quests.
* Swift Action: Adjusted the location for the mid-20s version of this quest so Defiants no longer get sent into significantly higher level mobs.
* Characters above level 40 can now take the quest from Runic Shards if they were previously unable to.

CHARACTER TRANSFER
* Friend lists and Ignore lists are now cleared on transferred characters. Accounts linked via Ascend-a-Friend will still have their friends auto-added when logging in. (Previously these lists kept bad links to other characters and only ever showed friends as offline.)
* Transferring a character with names that do not pass the naming filter on the destination shard will now be forced to rename the character if they agree to continue with the transfer, rather than having their character locked from transferring.

GENERAL
* Someone declining the invitation for a group formed through the LFG tool will no longer remove the other invited players from the queue.
* Scarwood Reach: Unexpected Intervention: The Power Conduit can be interacted with again to update this quest.
* Stonefield: The Weight of Commodity: Stonespores give the proper item again to update this quest.
* The Augment slot no longer appears on the crafting UI for non-augmentable items.

PVP/WARFRONTS
* PvP Quests: Disrupting Operations in Shimmersand and Iron Pine Peaks no longer update on kills in Stillmoor, and only update on player kills in their respective zones.
* PvP: Fixed Strafe and other moving-while-channeling abilities so they end correctly when line of sight is lost to the target.

GILDED PROPHECY [Sliver]
* Anrak: Should no longer get stuck using his Tail Swipe multiple times in a row.
* Uruluuk: Fixed the shrines in this encounter continuing to cast when ‘dead’.

RIFT v1.3 Crash Issues

There has been reports of players PCs crashing out after the v.13 patch was applied, I have not experienced this yet but it is affecting some players. TRION are aware of the porblem and the all the info has been passed back to the dev team who are hoping this will be resolved. Here’s what Elrar updated with:

I’ve passed this info on to the team concerning new issues after Hot Fix #2. I don’t have any details currently but didn’t want to leave you hanging.

Fingers crossed this will be resolved and everyone can get back to some cracking stable gameplay.

SoulBuilder v1.3 Update

The SoulBuilder has been updated to v1.3 with all the new data. Get planning your soul builds now and copy or compare your previous builds easily via your profile. We updated this last night so all builds from around 6PM GMT will automatically feature the new build data.

RIFT v1.3 Known Issues Hotfixed

A number of issues have been resolved with today’s Hot Fix: RIFT 1.3 Hotfix #1 – 6/23/11

  • LFG Tool temporarily disabled due to a potential crash issue.
  • Guild banks are enabled on select shards for observation.
  • Issue in which players see random objects such as trees and staircases in areas where there should be none.
  • Whirling Charge Planar Essence: This item has been improperly assigned caster attributes instead of physical.
  • PvP Souls: Break Free does not work when under the effects of certain crowd control abilities.
  • Justicar: Rebuke is currently not working properly.
  • Iron Pine Peak Dailies are not rewarding Plaques of the Mountaineer.
  • Apothecary: The Heroic Healing Tonic is incorrectly replaced with the new recipe Brew of the Abyssal Apprentice.
  • There is a rare issue that may cause a player to crash to desktop when using specific recipes with augments.
  • Raid Frames incorrectly show red bars for members out of range or teleporting.

RIFT v1.3 Patch Notes

All servers are now back to normal and the final patch notes are out. Guild Banks are not in as yet and I think they were still working on them this afternoon so hopefully soon. The patch notes are pretty lengthy so check them out after the break. Expect a Hotfix tomorrow (later today depending on where you are) according to Scott Hartsman.

Hal Hanlin Talks v1.3 with Massively

The latest v1.3 interview has popped up on Massively as they pin down Hal Hanlin to find out more about tonight’s major update. Here’s a snip from the article:

Hanlin said that it was a balancing act between implementing his team’s ideas and player wishes, since Trion wants to cover both equally. The team doesn’t want to rush anything, either, which is why it’s held back features from patches (such as the addon system) until they’re fully complete.

I also asked whether what we can see on the map is the whole world or there are other continents out there. He demurred, simply saying, “We have six different content pods working on different stuff.” Take that for what you will.

RIFT v1.3 Deployed and Now Live

After a shakey start due to some sort of problem as the patch was sent to the live servers, the North American servers appear to be back. The EU patch deploys in about 15 minutes so hopefully that will go to plan.

There have been reports of corrupt clients with the patch and TRION suggest you use the repair button to try and sort anything out.

It’s been a wild ride on the official boards with the servers being down for hours today and I have seen some amusing and at the same time ridiculous threads. Best one I saw was someone asking for compensation for the downtime. I mean c’mon, give TRION a break, they have been sweating over this for hours today and now we are up and running it’s job well done.
