Create a Colossus Contest

I love art contests and there’s a cracking ‘Create a Colossus Contest’ now running on Deviant Art. I am useless at art so I won’t be entering, but there are plenty of you out there with the talent to enter.

There are some great cash prizes up for grabs that would certainly more than cover your RIFT subs for years to come :)

You’re traveling through Telara as a bright light appears. A massive rift opens up and monsters start invading. Your team fights to protect their land. As they continuously battle the invading monsters, a massive, 10-story colossus appears.

deviantART is challenging artists to answer the question: What does this colossus look like in RIFT?

Choose one of the six planar themes: earth, air, fire, water, life, or death. Create concept art of a colossus using one of the themes. You can use your favorite image editing tool, a 3D program, or traditional media.

RIFT: IncGamers Digital CE Winners Announced

And the winners are...

Well done to everyone who took part in our Win a Digital CE copy of RIFT. After much deliberation, and I have to say laughter (at the intentional funnies), we have  picked the winners of the best pics and written content from the contest. As there were so many entries and it has been hard to whittle down the winners, we are actually going to give away 17 CEs instead of 15.

All winners will receive the Digital CE keys direct from us here at Rift: IncGamers within the next 48 hours. Keys will be emailed to the email account you used to register on the site.

If you were not lucky in this contest, the main IncGamers.com site has 10 Digital CEs up for grabs from today but you will have to be quick to enter.

Win a copy of the RIFT Collector’s Edition

So the beta has ended or you’ve only just discovered this RIFT game MMO fans are all yapping about and you’re kicking yourself you didn’t get in on the beta?  Don’t be down in the mouth, “every cloud…” as the saying goes.  No beta means you have more time to win stuff and we have the stuff.

We are giving away 15 copies of the RIFT Collector’s Edition (digital).  It’s true.  We’re not going to just chuck them at random people. No, we expect you to express in some way your burning desire to own not only the game but also the following goodies.


  • Collector’s Satchel: Increase the size of your primary backpack to 24 slots.
  • Ancient Tartagon Mount: Available at level 20, this two-headed turtle mount increases your speed by 60%.
  • Bogling Wastrel: This mischievous, Collector’s Edition-only pet sets you apart from the other Ascended.

Win a copy of RIFT Collector's EditionThere are two ways to win. Either you create a piece of art. It can be a traditional drawing or some creation, maybe something out of lego for example. If a drawing it doesn’t need to be of the standard you’d find on Deviant Art and it can even be amusing. All we stipulate is that it is in some way related to RIFT. And if you’re challenged in that area how about writing a full-blown poem or even a little ditty. Again it just needs to be related to RIFT.

Okay, some of you may need a bit of spurring on to get the creative juices flowing so Rushster and I have got the ball rolling.  Rushster, with the deft hand of a street artist has whipped up this masterpiece.  Yes, you are free to use this as your desktop wallpaper, it’ll be hard to resist I know.  For my part, I’ve put a wee ditty together which will hopefully help inspire you (not to facepalm).

Hail heroes, rogue, warrior, cleric and mage,

rained down on invaders great fury and rage.

But now the final beta draws to an end,

Telara may fall, heroes no longer defend.

The minions of Regulos grow stronger once more,

but we shall return and this time it’s war.

I shan’t hold my breath for the plaudits.  So in the comments below add your ditty or if you have a picture you can add that to the competition gallery.

This competition is open worldwide.  We will just pick the 15 entries that we like the best, either impressed or amused or even moved to tears may bag you a prize.  Closing date is Sunday 27th February midnight GMT (4pm PST).

EDIT – Just wanted to reiterate that competition entries MUST be RIFT related and either some piece of art (drawing, lego/clay model, video etc) or a poem or ditty.
