RIFT Fae Yule Holiday Events Detailed & Screenshots

TRION has revealed their Rift holiday season event called Fae Yule. The new event will give players the chance to snag some holiday bonus items and new quests.

The six week long in-game celebrations will feature fancy holiday hats, new quests, a grumpy mead-guzzling satyr, and other festive items.

A three-phase world event will also take place, also called Fae Yule, where the Dragon of Air enslaves the Fae and it’s up to the Ascended to save Fae Yule. During the event players will earn unique Snowflakes, which can be redeemed for yule-inspired gear, a festive looking corgi companion, and a vaiyuu mount.

To get things started, from this weekend TRION will also offer three days of subscriber bonuses, including increased experience, PvP Favor and Prestige, Plaques of Achievement, and Planarite.

TRION to speak at NYCC

TRION will be heading to the New York Comic Con where they will discussing not only RIFT but their other two titles Defiance and End of Nations. On hand will be Hall Hanlin and lore lead Morgan Lockhart to discuss RIFT, End of Nations senior producer Chris Lena and Defiance senior producer Rob Hill.

The team will be there to update everyone on their plans for the months ahead and sessions will take place on October 14th  in room 1A24.

Rift EU Community Gathering Next Week

In London on the 23rd? Want to join the Rift community in a special meet-up event? TRION are organising a special meet-up event which should be a lot of fun.

We know that this announcement goes out with short notice, but the Trion London Gathering will nonetheless be a glorious opportunity for you commemorate all those hours you’ve spent playing RIFT with fellow British comrades, to talk to players who love the game as much as you do, to meet the community team, and to walk away with a coveted Hootie! That’s right, the adorable in-game, owl-esque pet makes a spectacular comeback and first time appearance in England. If you want it, you need to be there!

We will meet up in a pub called The Prince of Teck, located just next to Earl’s Court tube station, where the second floor has been reserved for us. There’ll be free drinks, free food, Hooties galore and a great couple of hardware give-aways sponsored by Razer!

Hootied galore sounds good so make sure you get along to the event which will be running at the same time as the Eurogamer Expo.

Celebration Subscriber Bonuses Extended

TRION has extended the birthday celebration bonuses for an extra week which include XP, Guild XP, Favor, Prestige, Planarite, and dungeon & raid currencies due to the storms on the East Coast of the US which have been ravaging their way north. Some good news there if you have been stuck away from your PC effected by the storms.

RIFT Birthday Celebrations Underway

It really is hard to believe we are six months into RIFT, the time has really flown by. The good news is the celebrations are now underway and TRION are giving away all sorts of goodies to RIFT fans including in-game bonuses and some very cool real life prizes. Let the party commence!

RIFT’s half-birthday celebration is underway. Subscribers enjoy bonuses to XP, Prestige, and more, while new and returning players get to experience RIFT for free! Everyone who celebrates with us can enter up to four exciting contests with great prizes like new HP PCs, video cards, and game time, and everyone who subscribes by August 31 will receive a special gift to let them re-live the festivities. Rift Gamescom Video Interview & v1.5 Update

Jan from Result – Immerwacht EU popped a mail over to let us know that he managed to interview Vice President/Executive Development Director Russ Brown and RIFT Producer Adam Gershowitz at the show and have put up a new video. Key points to note from the interview include:

  • 1.5 will go live end of september – beginning of october
  • There will be “single-dungeons” as a part of the “Chronicles of Telara”. These dungeons are for more casual players who don’t have the times like full raiders do. You can easily clear this dungeons with 1-2 players (depends on the equip) but the difficulty will not scale with the amount of players in the dungeon. Hammerknell will be the first “solo-dungeon” so that casual gamers are able to see that type of dungeon as well.
  • There will be the “Master-Mode”. The Developers said that it is going to be hard to solve these dungeons. It’s for gamers between full raiding and casual. Right now, Darkening Deeps and Deepstrike Mines are the first dungeons in testing phase. There probably will be more depending on which dungeons the community wants to see.
  • The new “Hammerknell”-Warfront “Library of the Runemasters” will be released
  • The first parts of the new “Planar Achievment System” will go live. From level 50 on you will get points for earned EP from daily quests etc. These points can be spent in 6 extra bonus skilltrees to adjust the characters a little more and give them some finetuning.

Other Facts

  • - The new 10-man-dungeon “Rise of the phoenix” won’t be released with 1.5 because they are focusing on other things (see above) and it is still in testing
  • - The new 10-man-dungeon will be as hard as Hammerknell just with 10 man!
  • - The new Zone won’t come live with 1.5
  • - But there will be new Raid-Rifts with the new zone (1.6 or later)
  • - The aspect “social-life” was discussed. Developers are planig some fancy features like a “barber-shop” whre you can change the face of your character.
  • - The “Warrior and leather” issue was discussed. They want to have every class their own equip-class. So warriors won’t prefer leather instead of plate anymore in future. so don’t buy any leather form you tokens any more warriors because they will adjust the items step by step^^

Party with TRION at GamesCom and get Hootie

While I am over the moon TRION are throwing a party at GamesCom I am also dissapointed I am leaving the day before the party kicks off. Typical, just my luck. Anyway, if you are going to GamesCom in Cologne you can join the devs and get your hands on Hootie.

Following an immensely successful launch of RIFT earlier this year, Trion is ready to party – are you?! 

Keeping up the spirit from our presence at last year’s gamescom, we’re continuing the fine tradition of Trion community parties with a gamescom 2011 edition that we’re looking to make at least as spectacular!

TRION Heads to GamesCom

Next month GamesCom kicks off in Germany and I’ll be heading over for some gaming debauchery which should be fun. TRION will of course be there showing off their upcoming MMO RTS End of Nations and everyone’s favourite MMO RIFT. I am already dribbling with excitement.

This year’s gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany, sets the stage for the biggest European appearance of Trion Worlds, the premier publisher and developer of connected video games. Gamers will be able to play the critically acclaimed and successful MMORPG Rift™ and the highly anticipated MMORTS End of Nations™.

TRION at GamesCom

Next month the videogames industry descends on Cologne in Germany for the annual Gamescom convention. TRION has confirmed their attendance and we’ll be there to see both RIFT and End of Nations.

Well met travellers,

We’re rapidly closing in on the opening of the world’s largest gaming show, gamescom 2011 (Cologne, Germany), and hope you’re ready to join us both offline and online to partake in the guaranteed ensuing madness! 

Over 250,000 gamers of various genres are predicted to shuffle through the massive crowds this year to get a glimpse of their favourite games. Many are bound to be looking up the Trion booth (A-021, Hall 9) where we’ll be showcasing the latest additions to RIFT and our upcoming, most spectacular, MMORTS End of Nations. We will also be hosting our 2nd gamscom community party on Saturday night. 

An action-packed schedule will be accompanying you throughout the show, offering stage demonstrations, developer interviews, tons of free swag and other cool events for RIFT and End of Nations fans alike.
