RIFT 1.5 Hotfix #5 – 10/12/11
GENERAL
* Marksman: Strafe now correctly enjoys the benefit of the Marksman’s increased range.
* Shimmersand: Ritual Firebrand items are once again quest items and can be stored in the quest bag.
* Achievements: Expert Deepstrike Mines: Fixed a bug where killing Dichrom was not crediting the Expert: Deepstrike Mines achievement.
* Achievements: Gilded Prophecy: Added a speculative fix for a case where achievements would not be granted during the Thalguur fight.
* The Eth Agility racial ability correctly works again when swimming.ZONE EVENTS
* Slightly increased the Planarite reward from zone event encounters.
* Tweaked the level ranges on some NPCs and Invasions during the zone events Army of the Wind and Prince of Earth.
* ‘The Crucible’ zone event in Scarlet Gorge has returned, and the fire colossi Fenkor and Derengal with it! Take on these colossi to earn your Ashes to Ashes and Kiss of the Flame achievements.CHRONICLES
* Artifacts collected inside Chronicles now properly count toward the guild quest: Digging Deeper.
* The treasure chest achievements inside the Hammerknell and Greenscale’s Blight chronicles should award more reliably now.
* Fixed a bug in the Hammerknell chronicle that could prevent the Faceless Man or Borrin from assisting you with Murdantix.
* Hammerknell chronicle: The Painstalker Broodmothers should no longer get stuck at low health.

E3 Info and Media Overload!
Posted 7 June 2011 by Rushster [Comments Off]As you all know, E3 kicked off properly today and the team on the main IncGamers.com site have been working throughout the day and night bringing all the latest media and screenshots from the show. Today there were four major conferences, Microsoft, Sony, UbiSoft and EA. There has been some cracking media released, especially trailers and shots. I urge you to check out some of the upcoming titles, it’s great to see where the world of videogames is heading in the next twelve months.
Check out the EA, Microsoft, UbiSoft and Sony conference wrap-up pages to find out what they have planned. The big news for Sony was their new hand-held the Vita which does look pretty impressive.

We are almost hitting launch day and Gamasutra has posted an interview with TRION CEO Lars Buttler ahead ot tomorrow’s launch. In the interview Lars talked about what it’s taken to get ready for launch, the MMO genre and more. Here’s a snip:
He added, “Making a good MMORPG is the hardest [thing] to do in the entertainment world — not just in the video games world. But I would also say that if you get it right, and create a visually stunning, highly polished, fully dynamic, massively social game world, then you probably create the most exciting, most emotionally engaging mass entertainment in the world.”
Official Site Updates – PvP and Greenscale

A couple of new additions ot the official site this evening which include The Legend of Greenscale which tells the the story of the Elf girl Arissia and Greenscale.
Trion has also updated their site with a new PvP info page for anyone wanting to double check the game’s PvP features before diving in.
PvP has been a bit of an adventure for me in RIFT, I really suck at PvP, it’s never been something I have got stuck into in MMOs.
That has not stopped me jumping into the Warfronts in RIFT, because you have to try everything in Beta. Out of the three types of PvP Warfronts so far the CTF Whitefall Steppes has been top of my list. I will say that Warfronts are a pretty good place to pick up some extra XP, before you know it you can find yourself levelled. Anwyay, make sure you at least try all of the Warfronts once , they are a lot of fun.
RIFT Invades Team Fortress 2

Here’s your chance to look every bit the fashionista! RIFT is about to invade the world of Team Fortress 2. Steam customers who pre-order RIFT by 4 March will receive two exclusive, melee weapons in Team Fortress 2, the “Sharpened Volcano Fragment” and “Sun-on-a-stick”.
Valve will also be adding a new permanent achievement called Riftwalker to TF2 that grants a redeemable code for an exclusive headpiece in RIFT called the “Well Spun Hat”. Players who complete the Riftwalker achievement can apply the code to their TRION account page and the hat will appear in their in-game mailbox during the headstart period which begins 24 February.
All Steam pre-order customers will receive the weapons, including those who’ve already purchased Rift through the digital platform. This offer is available to Steam users worldwide.
