Dyes

In RIFT you can dye your clothes to add some individuality to your gear. You can not dye all items and so far I've come across some belts or shields I was unable to dye.

There are two places to buy dyes, one for each faction.

  • Defiant - Keyvin Stylwit, Meridian (6110,5133)
  • Guardian - Fionasinna the Vivid, Sanctum (7559,3049)

Dyes can also be created by Apothecaries so check for them on the Auction House or better still train as an Apothecary.

There are 3 types of dyes, light (45 gold), regular (5 gold) and dark (15 gold) and, from vendors, each colour follows the same pricing tariff.

The dyes at the bottom of the table are crafted by an Apothecary.

Viewing before Applying

It's a little fiddly to view what you will look like before applying a dye. Get your character window open (C), right click on the dye in your bag, left click on the item you wish to dye in your character screen, select 'primary' or 'secondary' and hit Ctrl U to get rid of the user interface. When you're finished hit Ctrl U again and select either 'confirm' or 'cancel'.

Dyes can be removed with a dye remover which is bought from the same vendors listed above.
